Tea Time in the Park

August 7th Etsy Tea
Laurelhurst Park, Thursday, 11am

It'll hopefully be really nice out. I'm looking forward to getting a little crafting done outside... and its August now. Sheesh, the summer rolls along so swiftly. We gotta do tea time outside while its still possible!!

I'll bring the tea, and some of my work to keep me busy.

Heres the directions if you are unsure where to meet:
Laurelhurst Park - NE corner of the park on a picnic table on the North side of the pond - park on SE Ankey on the north side of the park and walk onto the grassy area and look for an orange table cloth (its just a cheap piece of plastic table cloth) on a picnic table.

Autumn will be our lovely and wonderful host (THank You!!) and you can look see on the forum for her address

Bring your camera, your laptop, perhaps a sample of your work... or just bring yourself (and none of the before mentioned items, oh - you could bring a snack if you would like, it is lunchtime)

Oh, and I have a big patio table so should be plenty of room for crafts if you feel so incline. cheers

Hi Everybody

Due to the sheer wonderful-ness of last week :) lets do it again!!!

There are raspberries, blueberries and maybe some marion berries available at Kruger for us to pick.

And then there is a farm that has cherries available for U-Pick that is just between the bridge and Kruger, if you are driving towards Kruger its on the right, there is a sign that says "U-Pick Cherries" and you follow that road for about a mile.

Thats where you'll find me!

see ya there!

July 10th - Tea Time with Rasberries

Okay people - tea time in the park is wonderful, I love it, last week was very productive for me and it was great to see everyone. My goodness, it was perfection.

This week I was thinking... and researching... and drooling...
lets go Rasberry Picking!!!

Sauvie's Island, Kruger Farm... according to their blog, the strawberries are winding down and Rasberries are ripe for the pickin'!!! I can't wait - and I am happy to use tea time as an excuse to go out and get me some. So come and join me people! I will be at Krugers around 11am, with the orange table cloth over a picnic table out by the parking lot. I'll wait till maybe 11:30 or so to head out and start picking.

If you've never done this before: dammit take the day off work and come join us! Its supposed to be 80degrees out and sunny. Wear sunblock and/or a hat. Bring cardboard or fruit holders if you want to be resourceful. Otherwise thats all you need. To get there head up Rt 30, its less than 1/2hr north of Downtown Portland. You'll see a bridge to Sauvi Island, take that bridge (its brand new!) and Krugers is the first farm on the right as you head straight down the main road. See you there!

Tea Time in Laurelhust Park

So its supposed to be kinda partly cloudy on Thursday again, but I say lets have tea time in the park regardless. So I will be there :)

Last week was lovely. The sun came out just as we were packing up. But it was a beautiful day. Lots of photos were being taken. New Etsy seller Jonathan Poe (Poecreate.etsy.com) needed some shots of his beautiful lampworked beads on a model, so he took pictures while we were all out there. I was just snooping around his shop and its fun to see the results!

And I am eager to hear about the Park Block Farmers Market show, so it will be good to get to chat. Same time and place as last week.

Business Planning

Sunday Jan. 27th, 2008

Hi Everyone -
I would like to host a teatime this Thursday, 1/31 at 11am
to discuss/brainstorm ideas about keeping our businesses going during these harder financial times, ways we can work together – besides sales (Jackie you rawk!), and other strategies for growing our businesses.
I realize that 11 on a Thursday is impossible for many, but I thought getting a discussion going would be good and perhaps having another in the evening for others.
Please let me know who is interested and can make it (so I know how many cookies to bake) either here or I can be reached at curlygirlglass@yahoo.com .
